GeoGenix, a New Jersey-based residential and commercial solar installer, has acquired Heat Shed, a Pennsylvania-based residential solar installer.
"A natural synergy exists between GeoGenix and Heat Shed that made the joining of these two companies an easy decision," says Gaurav Naik, principal at GeoGenix. "We're each one of the oldest integrators in our respective states, which gives us an unsurpassed level of solar knowledge and know-how."

View: As the solar market matures - consolidation is to be expected. Already we are seeing solar panel manufacturers acquiring solar developers to get into specific markets (like large utility sales) and now we are seeing a consolidation of installers. More of these type of transactions are to be expected.
